How the Beast System came to America

On May 10, 1987 the Lord told me to get into my car and start driving. I did so, and he then said, “Go to Newport, turn left, go four blocks, and turn right.” Newport was a small town about 20 miles from my house. I followed His instructions and turned into the parking lot of a restaurant.

I went into the restaurant and ordered something to drink. Then I pulled out my notebook and asked God, “Okay, what is it that You want to tell me?”

He then proceeded to tell me that Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton was going to become president and that his running mate would be from the South, who would at first oppose him and then join forces with him. I was told that Clinton would be the so-called “beast man” that the Net of Prayer had discerned as early as 1981.

At that point no one knew who this “beast man” was. The only physical description that we had was that he was “baby-faced.” Those who remember Clinton in those days know that he had a very boyish face.

The Lord also said cryptically that “the beast attacks on July 14.” I assumed that this meant he would announce his candidacy for president on that date in 1987, since the next elections were to be held the following year (1988). Instead, on July 14 he announced that he had decided NOT to run for president. This puzzled me, until I received more discernment.

Hurricane Gloria (September 27, 1985)

Nearly two years before this revelation about Bill Clinton, the “beast” attacked on September 2, 1985. Prayer calls were issued to various churches, all of whom rejected them. On Sunday, September 15 Chuck was passing out flyers in a church parking lot when an usher told him to stop. The usher did not realize that at that moment he was the spokesman for the church on a much larger scale than he could possibly comprehend. In his spiritual role as the unintentional Church spokesman, he told us that the Church as a whole had again rejected the call to prayer.

On September 22, 1985, Hurricane Gloria formed in the Atlantic and began to move north toward the East Coast of America. It appeared to be heading toward Washington D.C.

I recall having what I called a “cameo vision” some time before Gloria had formed, where I had seen what looked like a large dark coin or cameo with the picture of a horseman with a raised sword. It was moving into Washington D.C. from the Atlantic. We understood from this that the “beast man” was going to make an attempt to become president, so the Net of Prayer (NOP) decided to put a “prayer block” along the coast to prevent this from happening.

Gloria moved up the coast, hit Cape Hatteras, NC on September 27, 1985 with 135 mph winds, and continued toward Washington. Everyone thought it was going to hit Washington D.C. directly, but then it suddenly turned east, swung around Washington, and hit New York City instead. We were successful in stopping the beast’s attack on Washington, but it hit an alternate target that we were unable to prevent. The Saul Church still ruled in those days (until 1993), and the authority of “David” (overcomer company) was still limited.

The significance of Gloria hitting New York City may have had something to do with the financial condition of the nation. On September 16, 1985 America officially became a debtor nation for the first time in history. In other words, the country owed more to other nations than they owed America. This date was also the feast of Trumpets that year.

The prayer block that we had put in place to keep the beast from taking Washington prevented Bill Clinton from announcing his presidential candidacy on July 14, 1987. He had to wait four more years. We had successfully delayed the prophetic “beast man” from taking the presidency in Washington D.C. Meanwhile, our president was George H.W. Bush. He was hardly better, but his power was more limited or restrained, because the spirit of the beast had been prevented from taking full control over America in 1987.

To understand how this story ended, we must skip ahead to the hurricane that hit four years later in 1989, which prepared the way for Bill Clinton to become president in the next election (1992). Hurricane Hugo was the sign that the delay had run its course and that Washington was now vulnerable to the beast’s takeover of America.

Hurricane Hugo (September 21, 1989)

On the night of September 21/22, 1989 Hurricane Hugo struck Charleston, SC with 135 mph winds. Hugo came ashore and moved inland before hitting Washington from the southwest. In doing so, Hugo avoided our prayer block on the Atlantic side and came through the back door.

At that time, I made a trip to North Carolina, where I had been asked to teach a home group for a few days. I arrived the day after Hugo on September 22. I realized then that God had not allowed me to get there in time to deal with Hugo. In fact, I now see that I was incapable of dealing with it, because I was in the final days of my time of disobedience in the Net of Prayer. (I would resign a few weeks later on October 16.)

At the time, we did not know fully what this would mean, nor had we yet connected Hugo with Gloria. But in 1992 there were three presidential candidates: The incumbent, President George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Ross Perot. Perot siphoned off enough votes from Bush to allow Clinton to win the election with just 43 percent of the vote.

In other words, the beast man got into Washington through the back door. We then knew the significance of Hurricane Hugo. Clinton’s election in 1992 brought America under the full dominion of the beast system. America has suffered from this situation to the present time.

In January 1993 Clinton moved from Arkansas to Washington D.C. when inaugurated as the 42^nd president. A few months later, we were led to move to Washington state (the 42^nd state) to observe from a spiritual standpoint. Washington state represents Washington D.C., so we were able to discern the heart condition of Washington D.C. by observing signs in Washington state. In fact, we moved to a house in King County (Seattle area) and lived there for nearly three years.

A Change in Kingdom Administration

I have written earlier about the three churches. The first was the Passover church, instituted by Moses at the first Passover in Egypt, and ending at Passover of 33 A.D. when Christ was crucified. This is “the church in the wilderness” (Acts 7:38 KJV). The second church was the Pentecost church from 33 to 1993 A.D., a cycle of 40 Jubilees running parallel to Israel’s 40-year wilderness journey and to Saul’s 40-year reign. The third church is the Tabernacles church into which we are now transitioning.

The point is that from a prophetic standpoint, “Saul” died on Pentecost, May 30, 1993, and we entered into the beginning of the reign of “David.” Saul and David are no longer individuals but are each comprised of a company of people. Pentecostals are from the house of Saul, and Tabernacles people are from the house of David.

Saul’s reign ended May 30, 1993, and we moved to Washington state in November. Hence, it was under the administration of “Saul” that the beast system took root in Washington, but we were led to move to Washington state a few months after Saul’s reign ended.

In 2 Samuel 5:4, 5 we read,

⁴ David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned forty years. ⁵ At Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.

We see from this that the first 7½ years of David’s reign were transitional in the sense that his authority began small, ruling just one tribe at first. It was not until 7½ years later that he was crowned king over all Israel, conquered Jerusalem, and then moved his capital city from Hebron to Jerusalem. Therefore, we understood at the time that from May 30, 1993 to November 30, 2000 would be the corresponding time of David’s transition to full authority.

At the same time, we understood that Bill and Hillary Clinton were prophetic types of King Ahab and Jezebel. Many prophetic teachers came to this conclusion after Clinton’s election in November 1992, but we knew this much earlier. Having lived in Arkansas when Clinton was governor in the 1980’s, we had a preview long before others. And the revelation of the “beast man” bolstered this discernment in 1987.

Knowing this spiritual connection between Clinton and Ahab, we studied the story of Ahab to know how the story would end. We saw how Ahab had stolen Naboth’s vineyard. The vineyard represents the Kingdom (Isaiah 5:1-7). Hence, the beast system usurped authority over the kingdom, due to the rebellious heart of the Saul church that failed to guard against this.

We also noted that Elijah the prophet confronted King Ahab about this, and Ahab actually “humbled himself” (1 Kings 21:29), obtaining a 3-year delay in the divine judgment. Nothing like this happened during Clinton’s first term in office, so we knew that he would be re-elected in 1996. Finally, in August of 1998, Bill Clinton was forced to admit his affair with Monica Lewinsky. He did so angrily at that time, and justified his perjury by saying, “It depends on what the meaning of the word is is.” Yet a few weeks later on September 11, 1998 he humbled himself at the White House prayer breakfast. His speech included this:

I agree with those who have said that, in my first statement after I testified, I was not contrite enough.

I don't think there is a fancy way to say that I have sinned. It is important to me that everybody who has been hurt know that the sorrow I feel is genuine -- first and most important, my family, also my friends, my staff, my Cabinet, Monica Lewinsky and her family, and the American people.

I have asked all for their forgiveness. But I believe that to be forgiven, more than sorrow is required. At least two more things: First, genuine repentance, a determination to change and to repair breaches of my own making. I have repented.

Second, what my Bible calls a broken spirit. An understanding that I must have God's help to be the person that I want to be. A willingness to give the very forgiveness I seek.

Though he claimed to repent, he really only humbled himself, as Ahab did. Ahab did not give back Naboth’s vineyard, nor did he prosecute Jezebel, nor those guilty of false witness. If he had done so, divine judgment would have been averted altogether. So this is the event that began the 3-year delay to September 11, 2001, when divine judgment finally arrived in America.

Meanwhile, the Tabernacles church completed its 7½ year transition to full authority on November 30, 2000. On that date, a group of us gathered in Wisconsin to discuss prophetic things and to proclaim the New Jerusalem as the capital of the Kingdom. This became the next great hinge date in the transfer of authority from the beast systems to the saints of the Most High (Daniel 7:27 KJV).

As we soon discovered, representatives of the Saul church filed a challenge in the divine court two months later on January 29, 2001. Though we won the challenge, they refused to abide by the court decision, and so we were again plunged into a series of spiritual battles in 2001, which ultimately resulted in the Twin Towers demolition on September 11, 2001.

Essentially, we found ourselves in a situation similar to Joshua. Joshua was given the authority to bring the people into the kingdom in his day, but he had to fight the Canaanites to achieve that goal. We too had to engage in spiritual warfare to secure the authority of the Tabernacles church (in the long term) and the full authority from Saul to David in the shorter term.
