We have taken the five ministry gifts (Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Prophets, and Apostles) as an outline for the courses of Bible study in this School.
Our purpose is to equip those who are ministering with a knowledge of the Word, so that each will be more effective in fulfilling his or her calling.
Learn MoreI have written about the two eclipses in 2017 and 2024 marking a 7-year cycle, but there is also a third eclipse that occurred on October 14, 2023. Together the three form an alef (in old Phoenician-Hebrew script), from which we also get our A in English.

This Phoenician-Hebrew script (“Middle Hebrew”) was written with wedges, but even earlier, they used Egyptian-Hebrew script (“Early Hebrew”), where the alef was pictured as the head of an ox (or bull). You can compare these here:
https://www.ancient-hebrew.org/ancient-alphabet/aleph.htm
Whatever script one uses, the alef itself means an ox, and more broadly, it signifies strength or primacy, being the first letter of their alphabet.
The article above claims that the alef was God’s signature. In my view, the tav is God’s signature. The eclipses of 2017 and 2024 form a tav, originally written as an X, but the third eclipse forms an alef. Both appear to be significant. Tav means a mark or sign (signature), and this is most evident in Ezekiel 9:4, where God signs His name (“mark” is tav) upon people’s foreheads. See also Revelation 22:4. Both letters, then, appear to be significant.
The ox (alef) was also the symbol of the tribes of Joseph, whose horns were Ephraim and Manasseh. The prophecy given to Joseph in Deuteronomy 33:17 says,
17 As the firstborn of his ox, majesty is his, and his horns are the horns of the wild ox; with them he will push the peoples, all at once, to the ends of the earth. And those are the ten thousands of Ephraim and those are the thousands of Manasseh.
From Moses’ perspective, America may be thought of as “the ends of the earth.” Likewise, the US and Canada have always had about a 10:1 ratio in population. After Jacob adopted Joseph’s sons as full sons, Israel had 13 tribes. (Levi did not inherit land, so there were only 12 land-owning tribes.) America started out with 13 colonies as well.
The alef sign on America may not only identify America with the land of Joseph but also may indicate God’s priority in doing something with America. If so, hopefully, it will be something positive, such as the outpouring of the Spirit, rather than being first in divine judgment. Of course, it may also be both.
Each of the 12 land-owning tribes of Israel also had a sign of the mazzaroth (or “zodiac”). Joseph’s sign was Taurus, the bull, in whose heart was the Pleiades, the star cluster known as the “seven sisters,” i.e., the seven churches. It was known also as the Congregation and was thought to be the center of the universe. The sign of Taurus also has to do with the second coming of Christ and the outpouring of the Spirit.
We will have to watch for more signs to get more clarity on the meaning of these three eclipses.
Dr. Stephen Jones has been writing blog posts since 2005 on a variety of topics from Bible Studies to World News, and he has been writing books since 1992. Dr. Jones' most important writings came after God brought him back into the full-time ministry in 1991. It is here that all his earlier years of searching the Scriptures began to come into clear focus. He combines a knowledge of the Old and New Testaments with a personal revelation of God that began and developed during the "wilderness" period of his life, which he often refers to as God's True Bible College...
