The Ukraine war has now taken a decisive turn with the Russian victory in the long-standing battle of Avdeyeva. Russian troops have slowly been surrounding the fortress city for weeks, but Ukraine refused to withdraw its troops from the cauldron. Instead, Zelensky ordered Ukraine’s best troops, the Azov Nazi troops to the scene to reinforce those in Avdeyeva. Those troops, however, ended up in a meat grinder and refused to follow orders.
Today, Ukraine officially announced that they were withdrawing from the city, but the only way to leave is by crossing open fields that are largely a sea of mud. They have no way of taking any heavy equipment with them, and troops must cross on foot. Those who are already wounded have no chance of evacuating. The fields are already littered with the dead bodies of their comrades. Anyone crossing has only about 20 percent chance of survival. They would be better off surrendering.
The importance of this defeat dates back ten years, when the Donetsk region voted to become independent of Ukraine. Ukraine sent troops to force them into submission. Avdeyeva became Ukraine’s main fortress from which they began to shell the civilians in Donetsk City. This shelling continued for ten years, killing thousands of civilians—an obvious war crime.
So the fall of Avdeyeva marks the end of the siege of Donetsk City. And because it was such a strategic fortress, it also marks a significant defeat for Ukraine itself. Everyone now knows that Ukraine has lost the war. It is only a matter of time before the government collapses. Although the government officials in the EU still support Ukraine, the European people themselves are turning against them and are, in fact, ready to overthrow their leaders.
The tide has turned against the EU, NATO, and the USA itself. Not only are the people revolting, but the nations of the world are also turning away. The Gaza genocide has turned the entire Arab and Muslim world against the US in particular after Biden gave Netanyahu the green light and a blank check last October.
Now Biden, Cameron, Baerbock, and others are trying to distance themselves from Netanyahu’s genocidal actions, but their protests ring hollow when the arms shipments continue unabated. Essentially, the US is pushing the rest of the world into the Russia-China sphere of influence. More and more countries want to join the BRICS. The BRICS has now doubled in size and is now called BRICS 10.
The Gaza war has now reached a crisis point at Rafah, located on the border with Egypt. Having been instructed to move south to Rafah to avoid being bombed, the refugees are now being attacked in Rafah too. The problem is that there is no other place to go. The Israelis intend to expel the Palestinians from Gaza. Once they leave, they will not be allowed to return. That has been Israeli policy for decades.
Once Gaza has been depopulated, then Netanyahu plans to do the same with the West Bank. Over the past 40 years, they have already sent thousands of Jewish settlers to lay claim to land in Palestine. Most of these settlements were technically illegal, but the government did nothing to stop them. Hence, in practice, it was legalized. There was never any intention of allowing Palestinians to live there or to allow a Palestinian state, as mandated by the UN in Resolution 181 in 1947.
The legitimacy of the Israeli state hinges upon the legitimacy of a Palestinian state as well. One cannot claim half of the Resolution while denying the other half. As with the war in Ukraine, the Gaza war is bringing this entire question to the surface and to a crisis point. In spite of the support from Christian Zionists in America, it will soon be diplomatically impossible for the US to maintain its moral support for Israeli genocide and still maintain any credibility in the world.
At the same time, Ukraine’s defeat will expose America’s military weakness. This war, after all, is a proxy war between the US and Russia. The west as a whole has sent most of its military arsenal to the Ukrainian graveyard. Ukraine demands more and more weapons that cannot be produced immediately. They demand billions of dollars in order to survive financially. Ukraine is a basket case and has brought the European nations to the brink of bankruptcy.
Meanwhile, Russia is flourishing. Its economy is the best in the world. Thanks to sanctions, oil and gas prices have doubled, and Russia has become rich because of it. If the west doesn’t want Russian oil, they will be happy to sell it to China, India, and other eastern countries. India buys Russian oil, refines it, and then sells it to Europe at much higher prices. And now, with the Red Sea being closed to shipping, the oil tankers must travel around South Africa, which only raised the price of oil even more. None of this hurts Russia.
We in America have not felt this yet, because we are largely self-sufficient in terms of oil production. Our nuclear plants continue to run, because we have not sanctioned Russian uranium exports. Russia has not retaliated by cutting off exports to the west.
We live in Bizzaro World. Yet this is to be expected, if we understand how God drove King Nebuchadnezzar mad in Daniel 4. I noticed this about 30 years ago and wondered how this would be fulfilled in the modern Babylonian system. It is now quite clear.
