Present Truth

Last week I did a study on God’s Promise to Ishmael, where I showed that Ishmael was second in line to be given the land of Canaan/Palestine. The Bible makes it clear that his brother Isaac was the prime inheritor, but in his absence, Ishmael was next in line.

The house of Isaac (Amos 7:16) was also the house of Israel, that is, the ten tribes of Israel that God exiled on account of their persistent lawlessness. When they were conquered by Assyria and deported to the land of Gamir, the land devolved upon the Ishmaelites—although it is clear that they did not realize this. Instead, Edom, descended from Jacob’s brother Esau, sought to claim the land for themselves. But Edom was only third in line, because Ishmael held an older claim, being from the previous generation.

The tribes of Israel never returned to the old land, God having a better inheritance in mind through the New Covenant. Israel was divorced from God (Jeremiah 3:8; Hosea 2:2) and sent out of His house according to the law in Deuteronomy 24:1-3 KJV. God had been married to Israel since Mount Sinai, but this was an Old Covenant marriage, based on the vows of the people. When it ended in divorce, God sent Israel out of the house, as the law tells us, and it would have been unlawful for God to bring her back into His house apart from remarrying her.

There is, indeed, a great remarriage coming, but it will be a New Covenant marriage to those whose hearts have been changed by the Holy Spirit. God will never again marry a nation under Old Covenant terms. The Old Covenant was instituted in order to prove its inadequacy, for in spite of men’s well-intentioned vows, no one had the ability to keep their vows perfectly. Their vows created an obligation without giving them the ability to overcome the weakness passed down to them from Adam.

Hence, a New Covenant was needed, and this was the vow/promise of God to work within the hearts of the people to beget the sons of God and instill within them the nature of their heavenly Father. God is raising up a new nation, composed of men and women “from every tribe and tongue and people and nation” (Revelation 5:9). This new nation is destined to be His New Covenant Bride, because “the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready” (Revelation 19:7).

Further, this remarriage is not limited to biological Israelites but is open to all who have Abrahamic faith.

To have Abrahamic faith is to inherit that which Abraham sought—“a better country, that is, a heavenly one” (Hebrews 11:16). This is the inheritance of New Covenant believers. It is not the original land “from which they went out” and to which (with a map to guide them) the Israelites “would have had opportunity to return” (Hebrews 11:15). The old land was an Old Covenant inheritance, suitable for a season, but no longer adequate after its colossal failure that ended in divorce and exile.

The “lost” Israelites remained in Assyria’s land of Gamir until Babylon conquered Nineveh in 612 B.C. Some then began migrating west into the areas of “Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia” (1 Peter 1:1). Others migrated north through the Caucasus Mountains in such numbers that modern archeologists even today refer to them as Caucasians. The graveyard of Israel turned out to be the birthplace of western Europe, hidden largely by the fact that those Israelites were called by other names in the Assyrian records.

The point is that these Israelites were neither Assyrians nor Jews. The Jews retained their identity in the land of Judea as well as in Babylon where the majority of them remained for centuries. In 1948, when the Jewish state took upon itself the name Israel, it was done to deceive Christians into thinking that this was the regathering of the House of Israel. By such a simple subterfuge, the Zionists Jews laid claim to the name given to the sons of Joseph (Genesis 48:16). All the prophecies given to Israel were suddenly (mis)applied to the Jewish state.

In other words, the Jewish Zionists have tried to replace the Israelites in a case of mistaken identity. This is the real “Replacement Theology” which took place right under the noses of the Christians, made possible by their ignorance of biblical history and the simple difference between Israel and Judah.

Likewise, most Christians have failed to understand that the Old Covenant is now “obsolete” (Hebrews 8:13). Zionists have attempted to claim Covenant status with God apart from Jesus Christ, the Mediator of the New Covenant (Hebrews 12:24). This has given rise to a new and strange teaching called Dual Covenant Theology, where it is claimed that Jews and Christians each have their own covenant by which men may be saved. In other words, Jews are saved by the law, and Christians by grace. Was Paul, then, saved by the law?

I myself grew up in the church thinking that the Jews were Israelites, until I learned otherwise in 1971 when I was 21 years of age. This was the start of a new path that differed from the things I was taught in my childhood. In 1973 I learned the Restoration of All Things, and in 1974 I discovered the revelation of God’s law.

I did my homework for the next ten years, spending many hours a day studying the Scriptures and reading many ponderous history books that would have bored most people to tears. Then in 1981 God said, “Enough of this book learning! It is time to learn to hear My voice and to use the Scriptures by the power of the Holy Spirit.” God called me out of the church into the wilderness to teach me directly by the revelation of the Spirit. I then learned how the law was not carnal but spiritual (Romans 7:14), and I began to learn how the laws of God applied in spiritual matters.

After ten years of spiritual preparation (1981-1991), God then began to prepare me to return to the ministry and to take the lead in spiritual warfare in doing my part to overthrow Mystery Babylon and to build God’s Kingdom. The point is that my basic training took 20 years (1971-1991), a decade of studying what others had written, followed by a decade of direct training by the Holy Spirit.

Even then, God has continued to refine my understanding of His word over the years. It has been a progressive revelation of the word.

Right now, given the disruptions in the world, it is most important that we understand prophecy. Otherwise, we are far more likely to blindly support the Zionist state as if they were the biblical Israel. We must also have a clear understanding of the two covenants, so that we know the true inheritance that Abraham himself envisioned. We must know that the failure of the Old Covenant has given rise to the New Covenant and that to be an inheritor of the Kingdom one must have Abrahamic faith. “Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 15:50). That means, one cannot claim to be a chosen inheritor on the basis of biology and genealogy.

Knowing the truth is the key to understanding the modern conflicts and being able to provide biblical solutions to real problems. If we want to be among the saints who will judge the world (1 Corinthians 6:2), then we must know the mind of God and His laws by which the world will be judged.
