On August 2, 1988, the Net of Prayer conducted a prayer campaign called These Stones. The name was based on Luke 3:8 KJV, “God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.” I received the leading revelation to hold this prayer campaign, receiving the word a few months earlier on February 25, 1988:
“Call My people to a prayer campaign against the Prince of Persia…
“My people, draw not back, but press forward in victory, for I have empowered you by My Spirit to do this. Move in faith, and be ready to go with My Word to fill the power vacuum that shall be created when one so mighty is toppled.
“Let this be a sign unto you, My Word in Luke 3:8, for in this verse is My purpose and the name of this prayer campaign. Hallelujah! Thy God reigns over the kings of the earth!”
(The complete word I received then can be found in Wars of the Lord, chapter 7.)
At the time, our main focus was to reach the Muslim world with the Gospel of the Kingdom. This was because the physical territory of Apollyon, the Prince of Persia, was centered around Persia (Iran) and the Muslim world in general. However, we understood that the Prince of Persia had a wider influence and authority which has even affected the Church.
To prepare for this prayer campaign, I was led to begin a monthly bulletin to teach people the foundations of spiritual warfare and intercession. I called it Foundation For Intercession, and the first issue was April 1, 1988. This gave me 4 months in which to train readers in the basics as I understood them at that time. (Sorry, our website posts the FFI’s only back to 1999.)
August 2, 1988 was set aside as a day for prayer and fasting. The actual prayer battle took place the next day, August 3rd. In this battle, we took the Prince of Persia prisoner of war. Nonetheless, we had to release him a year later (August 2-3, 1989), and his release allowed him to foment the Gulf War a year later. Recall that Iraq invaded Kuwait on the night of August 2, 1990.
We have fought many more battles against the Prince of Persia over the years in various dimensions of the spirit. It’s almost like there are many versions of the Prince of Persia and that we must fight each iteration in its own dimension. Obviously, I do not have the space or time to review every occasion where we have fought the Prince of Persia. The important thing is that we have again arrived at a significant point in time, this being the 34th anniversary of the original battle on August 2-3, 1988.
This number 34 is the biblical number of Identification. See The Biblical Meaning of Numbers from One to Forty.
Identification has to do with naming people, and names often indicate callings. With that in mind, a message was given to John this morning, written on a history book called, History Year By Year: The Ultimate Visual Guise to the Events that Shaped the World. In part, the message said this to him (and us):
“Never apologize, undermine, sabotage, or attempt to justify the role, nature, and function that I have given to you individually and collectively.”
The medium on which these messages are written always provides context for the message itself. So the way I understand this, we have a calling, and God is identifying us (by name) to be sent out as ambassadors for Christ to bring the Gospel of the Kingdom to the world.
I say this because yesterday John and Bradley had their final appearance in the earthly court, wherein the judge officially accepted the affidavit of reconciliation in the dispute with the neighbor lady. I wrote about that earlier, if you recall. That case is now closed, charges withdrawn, and peace (reconciliation) has been established. This, God said, is a sign of greater things to come through the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18). More literally, it is the ministry of conciliation, a one-sided declaration of peace, and we, as ambassadors, are called to extend this message to the world, as Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:18-20,
18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us…
In other words, God has conciliated (katallasso) the world, and we are ambassadors of that message. We are also asking the world to be conciliated to God in return, so that there may be a reconciliation (apokatallasso).
Recall also that a warrant for the arrest of the Prince of Persia was issued on July 21, 2022 during the court case that I observed during my online call with John and Bradley. In fact, it was this event that triggered my memory of the similar event on August 2-3, 1988, where we took the Prince of Persia prisoner. I then began to contemplate the possibility that we would see results on August 2-3, 2022.
Precisely what results, of course, are often a mystery until they actually happen. Right now, we are just in the early stages of this time period, so I will reserve further comment on this for later.
Meanwhile, I wanted to draw your attention to the relevant data from the past, particularly from 1988. That was the beginning point of the Foundation For Intercession teaching bulletin, which I write monthly. (The August FFI, issue #409, was sent out recently and should be posted on the website shortly.)
