In recent months, Father God has been revealing the earthly manifestations of spiritual entities. For decades I have been aware that angels manifest in people and that the nature (name) of one’s angel determines one’s calling.
For this reason, we see the message to the angels of the seven churches in Revelation 2 and 3. The messages were meant for us, but they were sent through angels, each carrying one of the seven spirits of God.
The more we come into agreement with the angel (i.e. his message), the more we absorb our angel and become one with the Word. In other words, each of us has been assigned an angel with a peculiar calling described by the word given to that angel.
Note also that Jesus Christ is the word made flesh. Ultimately, our purpose is to be the medium through which the word in our angel becomes flesh. This brings heaven to earth in each person’s own specific manifestation. Some have described the process in this way: “Jesus is the Word; we are the words.”
We have been dealing with the Prince of Persia, who was mentioned in Daniel 10. The revelation came to him in the third year of Cyrus (Daniel 10:1). King Cyrus of Persia had a son named Cambyses. Cambyses was the prince of Persia.
This is a bit complex, because Cyrus himself played a dual role in prophecy. First, he was the king of the second beast empire (“the bear,” Daniel 7:5), and in that role, he was part of the ungodly system of government in the world. But Cyrus was also a type of Christ (Isaiah 45:1). Most people can hardly conceptualize an ungodly king being called a messiah. It takes some understanding of the sovereignty of God to fully appreciate the divine plan.
But let us focus on Cyrus’ role as a messiah overthrowing Babylon. Theoretically, if he had been allowed to complete his role as the messiah during the time of his rule, he would have done what the Messiah is doing today in overthrowing Mystery Babylon. But during his lifetime, his role as a messiah was subordinate to his role as the “bear.” Hence, he accomplished only a small part of the messianic calling.
In fact, his oldest son, Prince Cambyses, also had a role to play. He might have continued in his father’s footsteps, carrying on that messianic calling to the next generation. However, Cambyses had no interest (or knowledge, it seems) of that messianic calling. At any rate, he was as carnally minded as all of his contemporaries. For this reason, he became an adversary of the Kingdom.
Cambyses was made co-regent with his father in 530 B.C. when Cyrus went away to make war against the Massagetae (where he was killed). Cambyses then reigned as full regent until 522. He conquered Egypt but failed to conquer Ethiopia to the south and Carthage to the west. Cambyses died in Syria on the way home.
It appears, then, that the spiritual Prince of Persia operated through Cambyses, the earthly Prince of Persia. When Cambyses died in 522, the spiritual Prince of Persia operated through others down to the present time. Daniel’s problem with the Prince of Persia in Daniel 10 must have had some connection to Cambyses himself. Perhaps Daniel watched Cambyses carefully to see evidence of the spiritual activities of the spiritual prince.
The point is that Cambyses failed to build on his father’s messianic calling, and so the beast empires continued to rule in their beastly ways to the present time. Four beast empires were given an allotted time on earth to rule: Babylon, Persia, Greece (with its extensions, the 4 generals), and Rome with its “little horn” extension. These are all described in Daniel 7.
In our time, as the empire cycles came to an end, the cycle started up again with a modern form of Babylon which the book of Revelation calls “Mystery Babylon.” This was then followed by a second manifestation of Persia (Cyrus). Cyrus’ messianic calling in our day gives us an opportunity to complete the messianic calling that was cut short in the past.
The Persian “bear” is no longer dominant, because the beast empires have all had their day, and now the messianic side of Cyrus is the dominant side of prophecy. Along with this is the Prince of Persia factor. In my view, the overcomers (or some portion of them) must do what Cambyses failed to do.
In my own experience, I was drawn into this in March 1986 when I was transported by vision to a “dungeon” in Saudi Arabia where I was shown a “bear-like beast” that my angel was guarding. This was the first revelation that began to prepare me for the Gulf War in 1990. Recall that we fought These Stones prayer campaign on August 2-3, 1988 to bind the Prince of Persia. He had to be released a year later (1989), and another year later Iraq invaded Kuwait on August 2-3, 1990. That was the start of the Gulf War, fomented by the Prince of Persia.
I did not know at the time that we were being raised up to do what the carnally-minded Cambyses had failed to do. Our Cyrus is (primarily) the Messiah Himself. We are His children, called to be in agreement with Christ and to follow in His footsteps in all that we do on earth. In our earthly calling, we are opposed by other earthlings who follow the ungodly path that Cambyses himself took in his conquest of Egypt. We now see how those who oppose us are, in their own right, princes of Persia--successors of Cambyses.
Egypt is well known to be a prophetic type of the world as a whole. Hence, Joseph’s rise to power in Egypt was a prophetic type of Christ being given authority over the whole world. But the story of Cambyses gives us a carnal counterfeit of Joseph. Essentially, we can view Cambyses as providing us with an example of the wrong way to conquer the world. We are given that example so that we can learn how NOT to rule the world.
We are to follow Joseph’s example, and we are to do what Cambyses ought to have done, had he had any inclination to follow the true messianic calling given to his father, Cyrus.
I am now beginning to see with greater clarity the reason why God revealed the “bear” in 1986 and involved us in the prophetic patterns leading to the Gulf war. Seeing this in light of the recent revelation about Cambyses gives us fresh insight into our Elijah-Elisha calling to restore all things and to bring all things under the feet of Christ in the manner that God prescribes.
