The release of the missing 28 pages from the 911 report has implicated Saudi Arabia in the attack on the Twin Towers. The Saudis had threatened to sell their stash of US bonds in retaliation if this report was released. The US government decided to release it anyway. So far I have not read any reports where the Saudis are selling their US bonds, but it appears that they have hit upon another tactic.
They are now making overtures toward Russia, hoping to make a deal with them in regard to the dispute over Syria. Whether they actually reach a deal or not, it is clear that the Saudi government no longer wants to remain under US hegemony, but wants to switch sides and join with the kings from the east.
I don’t know which development is more important: Turkey’s move toward Russia, or the Saudi Arabian move. Both have enormous financial and geopolitical implications, and both are at the expense of US influence around the world. Here is part of the news report:

On July 24, Saudi Arabia offered Russia access to the Gulf Cooperation Council Market and regional investment funds if it ends its support for the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad, the Kingdom’s Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir said in an interview with the Politico.eu news website….
Saudi Arabia provides financial and military support to several rebel groups in Syria and has long proposed a handover of power or the forcible removal of Assad.
Saudi Arabia, according to Al-Jubeir, can offer Russia a foothold in the Middle East if a compromise can be found on the Syria conflict.
“We are ready to give Russia a stake in the Middle East that will make Russia a force stronger than the Soviet Union” with access to a pool of investment “greater than China’s," he said.
“It would be reasonable for Russia to say, that’s where our relations will advance our interests, not with Assad. We don’t disagree on the end game in Syria but how to get there," he claimed.
“Assad’s days are numbered," he said, “so make a deal while you can.”….
This move by Saudi Arabia comes at the expense of its relations with the United States. By moving forward with Russia, the Saudi's are now minimizing U.S. influence and power. The cancellation of the Petro-Dollar is now a very real probability.
The petro-dollar is an agreement, negotiated between the US and Saudi Arabia by then-Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, wherein ALL oil sales around the planet could only be done in U.S. Dollars. By arranging that, the US assured it could control world events and force countries around the world to utilize US dollars in oil transactions, making the US currency unavoidable. That is all on the table now….
It is also likely the Saudis hinted or announced to the USA, their intent to approach Russia, which was why the US began to vilify the Saudis. The only remedy for the US at this point, is war; which is likely why the U.S. chose recently to reveal Saudi actions connected with the attacks of September 11, by declassifying some of the 9-11 Commission Report. The US government apparently wants to begin setting the stage for a military conflict with Saudi Arabia….
Since Saudi Arabia understands the only US option might be war with Saudi Arabia, the Saudi's turn to Russia is also a survival instinct: They probably know only the Russians can protect them from the US.
Whatever the motivation, things are now in-play that will change the world as we know it. Expect developments to happen very fast from this point on.
Keep in mind that Saudi Arabia is the place of Mount Sinai “in Arabia” (Galatians 4:25). Mount Sinai is not in the Sinai peninsula (which is part of Egypt). It is in Arabia on the east side of the Gulf of Aqaba. I have long seen the possibility that Jerusalem would be judged from Mount Sinai, where the Saudis have a large military base with ballistic nuclear missiles, built for them by the Chinese during the 1980’s.
Jesus said in John 5:45-47,
45 Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have set your hope. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote of Me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?
Moses is the accepted judge of Jews, for they have placed their confidence in him. The problem is, the Jews do not believe Moses, in spite of their claims to the contrary. Their confidence in Moses, then, appeals to Mount Sinai, which is the Old Covenant. If they had placed their faith in Jesus, they might have come to Him for mercy, but in appealing to Moses, they will find only judgment.
When the Saudis built a nuclear base at the site of old Mount Sinai, I suspected that this might eventually be where the fulfillment of Jeremiah 19:10, 11 originates. But for decades, this seemed unlikely, because the Saudis were controlled by the US government. It seemed more likely that the threat would come from Iran. The situation, however, seems to be changing, so we should watch these developments in the coming months.
