July 9 was one of our main watch dates this year, as with each year. Its history extends back to July 9, 1984, which I wrote about in The Wars of the Lord, chapter 4. In 2010 it became associated with barley, because on that day we cast barley into the headwaters of the Mississippi River as a prophetic act that decreed the end of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The well was capped 144 hours later on July 15.
July 9 is also paired with July 10, which is a prophetic type of the Day of Atonement (7/10). This day is a day of repentance and forgiveness.
So did anything happen this year to mark these watch dates? Yes, major events occurred, though not all can be explained in public at this time.
On July 7 a hidden treasure was discovered in a buried coffin. It came to my attention on July 9 when I received a token of that treasure. This was a sign of Joseph, whose name was changed to Zaphnath-paneah, “hidden treasure” (Genesis 41:45). Joseph had been hidden in the Egyptian prison for many years, but when his wisdom and ability to interpret dreams was discovered, he was elevated to Prime Minister of Egypt under Pharaoh.
Joseph’s father also presumed that he was dead, because his other sons had presented him with a bloody robe after selling him to slave traders. Years later, when he finally revealed himself to his brothers, it was as if Joseph had risen from the dead.
Perhaps it is also significant that the book of Genesis ends with Joseph again in a coffin in Egypt (Genesis 50:25, 26), awaiting the day when his bones would be exhumed and brought to the Promised Land.
The event on July 9 was thus a sign of resurrection, as well as a sign of leaving Egypt to go to the Promised Land. Resurrection is the main feature of the sign of “barley,” because barley was waved in the temple on the wave-sheaf offering to prophesy of Christ’s resurrection from the dead and His presentation as the Son of God in the court of heaven.
So the fact that a treasure hidden in a coffin was found on July 7 and then shown to me on July 9 on the third day is a monumental sign of things to come. Likewise, keep in mind the old revelation from 1980, “July is like September.” This very good sign in July points to greater events in September, either on September 7-9 or on the actual Day of Atonement, September 23, 2015.
It is interesting that Pope Francis will be visiting the USA on the Day of Atonement. He is scheduled to fly to Washington D.C. on September 22 and then to address Congress on the Day of Atonement, September 23.
The main purpose of His visit is to attend the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia on September 26 before departing for Rome the next day. Given the recent Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage rights, he will no doubt address this issue, since this has much to do with the definition of “families.”
The World Meeting of Families occurs every three years, and the Papal visit to this meeting in 2015 was announced last year. Of course, this has caused a flurry of excitement among Roman Catholics and among prophecy preachers and teachers, who tell us that the Pope is going to announce the New World Order that will launch a lot of malicious persecution of Christians. They tie this to the final Blood Moon that is to be seen a few days later on September 28, marking the start of the feast of Tabernacles.
As I see it, their views are based largely on their own misunderstandings of biblical prophecy. But more importantly, each year we are given a preview in July of events that are to occur in September. In 2015 we have been given two big signs, the first on July 9 and the second on July 10 (corresponding to the Day of Atonement).
On July 10, 2015 Pope Francis did something that no other pope had dared to do. He apologized and asked forgiveness for the sins of the Roman Church, specifically “for crimes committed against the native peoples during the so-called conquest of America."
Furthermore, he said, “There was sin, and it was plentiful. But we never apologized, so I now ask for forgiveness.”
Is there a better way to mark the tenth day of the seventh month on our calendar? This apology strongly suggests that the actual Day of Atonement (September 23) will not be an evil day, but a day of repentance and forgiveness.
Here is an article about the Pope’s apology on July 10.
History's first Latin American pope "humbly" begged forgiveness during an encounter in Bolivia with indigenous groups and other activists and in the presence of Bolivia's first-ever indigenous president, Evo Morales.
Francis noted that Latin American church leaders in the past had acknowledged that "grave sins were committed against the native peoples of America in the name of God." St. John Paul II, for his part, apologized to the continent's indigenous for the "pain and suffering" caused during the 500 years of the church's presence in the Americas during a 1992 visit to the Dominican Republic.
But Francis went farther, and said he was doing so with "regret."
"I would also say, and here I wish to be quite clear, as was St. John Paul II: I humbly ask forgiveness, not only for the offenses of the church herself, but also for crimes committed against the native peoples during the so-called conquest of America," he said to applause from the crowd.
Then deviating from his prepared script, he added: "I also want for us to remember the thousands and thousands of priests who strongly opposed the logic of the sword with the power of the cross. There was sin, and it was plentiful. But we never apologized, so I now ask for forgiveness. But where there was sin, and there was plenty of sin, there was also an abundant grace increased by the men who defended indigenous peoples."
I do not know the mind of Pope Francis, but his words renounce the Old Covenant method of establishing the Kingdom and set forth the better path of the New Covenant. He was replacing "the logic of the sword with the power of the cross." To that, I say "AMEN."
So to all of the Pope's critics, I say this: Do you agree with this apology, or are you still stuck on the Old Covenant with its "logic of the sword"?
