"We now stand, in my opinion, before the 50 most fateful days in Israel's history, since perhaps the Yom Kippur War, in which there were also several dozen fateful days."
So said the former Head of Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Tzachi Hanegbi, at a closed meeting of Likud activists in Yafo....
"Today, when we say that we understand the danger of the Iranian threat, and understand that a confrontation bears a price, it is because we want to prevent our sons and grandson from paying unbearable prices," he said.
COMMENT to Mr. Hanegbi: There is still time to hear the voice of God and to get out of harm's way. Read Jeremiah 19 and Isaiah 29 until you understand what the prophets are saying. Take note of Jer. 19:11 which tells you that Jerusalem is going to be destroyed in such a way that it will never again be rebuilt. That sounds like the result of nuclear fallout to me.
Take note also that Isaiah condemns Jerusalem under the name of "Ariel." Isaiah 29:2-3 shows that God was speaking directly to Jerusalem, saying that HE will lay siege to the city and will bring it low (verse 4). Jerusalem's "enemies" in verse 5 are the enemies of God, not the enemies of the Jews. Now that the Israeli government has seen fit to make Jerusalem their capital and to lay claim to it, the "enemies" of God have camped there, as Isaiah said. Those enemies are defined in Isaiah 63:10 as those who have rebelled against God. Leviticus 26:42-44 speaks of Israelites who are hostile to God, thereby making God hostile to them. In both cases God was NOT speaking to (or about) "gentiles."
Get the picture? Isaiah 29:5 and 6 describes a nuclear war perfectly. It is centered on Jerusalem. Your fathers a century ago made a fateful decision, first to immigrate to Palestine, and later to make war and to steal land. Now your government is deciding to fight another war to keep that which they have stolen, "to prevent our sons and grandson from paying unbearable prices."
Bombing Iran is not going to make the problem go away. Iran is only the whip in God's hand. God has many such whips at His disposal, and to destroy His whips is merely another attempt to defend yourselves against God's judgment. To avoid that judgment, God requires repentance. I challenge you to be a blessing to all the families of the earth, rather than making Jerusalem a curse to everyone.
There is still time to take heed to the words of Rabbi Michael Ber Weissmandel on May 26, 2000,
". . . We should avoid the untenable position of the robber who prays for Divine help in carrying out his crime. We should pray that Zionism and its fruits vanish from the Earth, and that we be redeemed by the Messiah with dispatch.
"A prisoner is released only when he has served his time, or if he is pardoned by the President for good behavior. If he attempts to escape and is apprehended, his term is lengthened, besides the beating he receives when he is caught."
