New Year's Passover Prayer Meeting

Last night I went to the prayer meeting at 7:00 p.m. and left shortly after 3:00 a.m.

The first three hours were spent mostly in prayer, and I took note that the prayers had a lot to do with Passover. Not surprising was the focus upon the blood of Jesus, which is all about the Passover Lamb. But time was also spent in breaking past bondage and setting people free. Deliverance ministry was part of the mix, and this relates directly to Israel being delivered from the House of Bondage in Egypt.

Here are some excerpts that I jotted down in my notebook:

9:50 p.m. "History is about to be written. 2010 is not just a year. It is a new dawn. Tonight is a night of deliverance, a new freedom."

10:00 p.m. Luke 1:30 was read: "And the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God."

"Do not fear 2010. You have found favor with God. It shall not be the Year of Fear. It shall be the Year of Favor."

10:10 p.m. "I'm going to ask brother Steve to speak after the turn of the New Year." (This was my first indication that I would be teaching.)

(The pastor then focused upon "RESTORATION" and "RETURN." These are, of course, the big themes associated with Elijah, who was called to "restore all things" and to cause the hearts of the people to "return.")

10:15 p.m. "God does not really prosper anyone. He prospers His purpose, and all who walk in it will prosper. All security and joy comes by walking according to His purpose. This is where we must return. It is NOT a "return" to the church but a return to God (Mal. 3:7)."

Part of the restoration is restoring the true offices and callings.

10:20 p.m. "He is going to restore His true offices. We have been seeing people taking those titles and using them to manipulate others. It is time to take man out of the way and to restore the true pastors who will feed the flock. The Gospel of God must be restored to the House of God."

(Referring to the Prosperity Message, though not mentioned by name . . .)

10:50 p.m. "The life of God is a life of giving. But people have been using giving as a bargaining chip to get something from God. It is not authentic. Giving should be a way of life, and for those who manifest the life of Christ, 2010 will be the Year of Giving."

Much was also said about this being a time of New Birth. None of the old hinderances of this past year will be able to carry into the next year. We are being delivered from those things. About 11:30 the meeting changed from teaching to direct ministry of prayer and deliverance. This went through the midnight hour, which reminded me of Exodus 12:29,

"Now it came to pass about at midnight that the Lord struck all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the first-born of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the first born of cattle."

The meeting was then turned over to me, and I continued with the idea of The Purposes of God. When we know the divine plan and purpose, we find it easier to find our place in that purpose. I shared a lot of background from Scripture and from personal example to show them the importance of the time in which we are living.

I finished up around 2:30 a.m. by making a Decree that a reader had discerned and sent to me earlier. The Father confirmed the word, so I simply read Rev. 11:15 as a divine Decree,

"The kingdoms of this world are become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign for ever and ever."

It appears that the year 2010 will begin to see the overthrow of nations and kingdoms. It will be the Year of Fear to those who do not stand within the purposes of God. But it will be the Year of Favor for those who are in Christ. As God provides for them, they will be empowered to live the life of giving.

This is, of course, a contrast to the description of King Saul, who was a "taker." See 1 Sam. 8:11-18.

A final note . . . In my teaching last night, I spoke of the importance of the "resurrection" theme in regard to the two dates: January 6-8 and January 27. The pastor then told me that the Father had already led him and others to go on a 21-day fast from January 6-27.

I got the feeling that I was in the right place.
