When we were born, we experienced the trauma of separation that we had not known while in the womb. It was in the plan of God that we should have beingness, an identity of our own, but our souls perceived this separation from mother as the beginning of disunity. It was perhaps the first basic problem that we each have had to learn how to resolve in life.
The first thing we must learn is the purpose of beingness--the reason why God gave us our own personal identity that we in our immaturity and inexperience perceived as disunity. Our being itself is the bridge between heaven and earth, the door through which the glory of God comes to manifest in creation. Our individual doors have become cluttered with the cares of this world as we have piled a great deal of old furniture in front of it.
Worse yet, we have long ago lost the key that opens this door. Jesus came to restore to us the keys of the kingdom, because this is the key that opens the door in the heart of our beings. To Him was given the key of David (Rev. 3:7) that opens and shuts doors. It is the key of life itself, for it opens the door between heaven and earth, uniting the two in a free flow of communication.
The name "David" means beloved. The key of David is Love. The Love of God was expressed in Christ, who was willing to die, not for the righteous, but for sinners and enemies (Rom. 5:7-9). You will find the key in His blood, for the soul [nephesh] is in the blood (Lev. 17:11), which was to be poured upon the ground to atone for our souls (Isaiah 53:12).
The lost key is to be found in His blood, because it is His soul of Love that unlocks the door of our hearts long rusted shut. When unlocked, the Love of God is shed abroad in our hearts, and we then may begin the task of removing the clutter that has obstructed the door of our heart.
Thus, Love determines the quality of your beingness, for as His Love in you resonates with His Love in Himself through the open door, your will and His are one. This resolves the original problem of separation and we can rest, for now we understand that its purpose was not to promote disunity or separateness, but to establish more than one being unified by Love.
The world's method of resolving this problem is quite different. The world knows that love is the answer, but it looks in all the wrong places. Apart from Christ, they will not find what they seek. And where they lack in love, they make up the difference by force. Force, however, is the attempt to put two beings together who do not love each other. Likewise, law is the necessary tool to govern their relationship and to restore justice and balance when they seek advantage over each other.
The world cannot achieve unity by force. Controlling force only brings fear of consequences that can produce order in disunity. Only Love brings true unity.
When two magnets are arranged and brought together so that they repel each other, it takes force to unite them. But when arranged by Love, they are united by the power of attraction.
In the bigger picture, Love is the key that opens the door of our hearts, uniting heaven and earth. It unites the will of God with the will of man, making them one. The open door transmits the power of God into the earth through man's being. When heaven and earth are reconciled in unity through love, then all things will again find wholeness.
Each of us has a different purpose in life that is unique, and no one else can fulfill it for us. Others can stand in for a while on our behalf through the laws of unity and love, but ultimately, each of us is unique. Like all of nature, each creature has its own advantage in life. Your ultimate calling is simply to be yourself according to the covenant God made with you when you were brought into this world.
The problem is not that we are ourselves, but that we have been given other identities and are trying to be what we are not. These other identities enslave your innermost being, making you appear to be someone else to those around you. The world requires these alter-identities to be earned and proven by doing, rather than simply by being who you are.
The more identities that are established in earth, the more disunity we see, because men use these alter-identities to set themselves apart through their achievements, rather than to bridge the gaps by being love. This problem can be resolved only by renewing your first covenant by identifying with Jesus Christ, the great Unifier of creation.
When we come to the place of being who we are, feeling no need to prove our identity by doing or by accumulating, we will do the miraculous out of our being as naturally as breathing. This, I believe, is the point where the Covenant of Miracles begins to operate in our lives, as promised in Exodus 34:10. We will not have to work up our faith. There will be no huffing and puffing, sweating, or screwing up one's face in the attempt to make a miracle happen by force. The word will simply be spoken, and it will be so.
At the Feast of Tabernacles in Denver last year (2005) we received revelation that we were being given the key. The Hebrew word for "key" has a gematria of 528. We went to Denver, the "mile-high city" with an elevation of 5,280 feet to receive that key.
This year we went to the "Keystone State" (Pennsylvania) to use that key to open the door near Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love. In Revelation 3:7, 8 we find that the Church of Philadelphia was associated with the key of David that opens and shuts doors. God teaches us by way of illustration, using show-and-tell methods, just like He did in Bible days.
When God intends to do something in the earth, He brings it to pass through people. Normally, however, He trains those people first and gives them the revelation to know what He intends to do. For this reason, I am optimistic and downright excited about the time in which we are living. No matter how bad things look in the world, God is going to overwhelm and overcome the evil with good.
What we learned by revelation about the Key of David and the Open Door ministry this year gives us great hope and confidence, for we know that the world is not greater than God, nor is its ability to destroy greater than God's ability to create.
He is therefore training His people, raising a New Gideon's Army, building a new Temple, cleansing new vessels, and filling new wineskins for the work ahead. I believe that insofar as historic timing is concerned, we have now been given the Key of David. We cannot use it, of course, except to establish His will on earth. We are not independent of Him and cannot get ahead of Him. There is still more training necessary, no doubt, for God is always teaching, and we will always continue to learn. Nonetheless, great things are coming soon, for the Feast of Tabernacles of 2006 saw the Door begin to open.
