We have taken the five ministry gifts (Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Prophets, and Apostles) as an outline for the courses of Bible study in this School.
Our purpose is to equip those who are ministering with a knowledge of the Word, so that each will be more effective in fulfilling his or her calling.
Learn MoreAriel Sharon was elected Israeli Prime Minister some years ago after he visited the temple mount and caused a riot. For his trouble in scuttling the peace process, the Israeli people rewarded him with the high office, where he won with 62% of the vote.
From that point on, I have believed that Sharon was called to bring both the Israeli state and Jerusalem itself to its final destruction, as prophesied in Jer. 19:10, 11 and in Isaiah 29:1-6. Jeremiah says that Jerusalem will be destroyed like a smashed earthen vessel "that cannot be made whole again" (19:11). Isaiah follows up with a description of a nuclear strike upon "Ariel, the city where David dwelt."
I have felt that it was Ariel Sharon's calling to fulfill Isaiah 29:1, "Woe to Ariel, Ariel, the city where David dwelt." It just seems that it is too coincidental that ARIEL Sharon would become Prime Minister at this time in history.
Then on Nov. 20, 2005 Ariel Sharon announced that because of opposition within the Likud Party, he has formed a new political party called Kadima, i.e., "National Responsibility." My first reaction was, Well, perhaps I was wrong. Maybe he will lose the next election. But then Perez, the influential leader of the Labor Party, decided to join with Kadima after being replaced by Peretz. And now today, another bombshell--the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports, "In a surprise move on Wednesday, cabinet minister Tzachi Hanegbi, acting chairman of the Likud and chair of the Likud Central Committee, announced that he had decided to leave the party to join Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's new Kadima faction." The paper goes further, writing, "He said he would support Kadima's and pledge to retain Israel's "Jewish and democratic character".
Now there's a contradiction in terms. What he means is "Jewish democracy." Others need not apply. They don't mind having a couple of minorities, so long as they have no real political clout. What would happen if we said that we would work to maintain America's "Christian and democratic character"??? Oh, the howls. I can hear them already. But we are a land of double standards, because we are a double minded man unstable in all his ways (James 1:8).
The article then tells us that polls show that if elections were held today, Kadima would win 39 seats in Parliament. The Likud Party would only get 12 seats. The labor Party would get 22 seats. It looks like Sharon is well on his way to winning the next election March 28, 2006, and that he will be in a stronger position than ever.
So I have no reason to change my belief in Ariel Sharon's calling to lead the Israeli state into destruction. If any Israelis read this, they should consider repenting for the sin of Zionism. As I showed in my book, The Struggle for the Birthright, they need to submit to the iron yoke that God imposed upon them many years ago, rather than revolting against God's law of tribulation.
Dr. Stephen Jones has been writing blog posts since 2005 on a variety of topics from Bible Studies to World News, and he has been writing books since 1992. Dr. Jones' most important writings came after God brought him back into the full-time ministry in 1991. It is here that all his earlier years of searching the Scriptures began to come into clear focus. He combines a knowledge of the Old and New Testaments with a personal revelation of God that began and developed during the "wilderness" period of his life, which he often refers to as God's True Bible College...
